Hometown Layers of Love features DG’s own Jan McGhee

New Melle Baking Co. announces our Hometown Layers of Love- Jan McGhee, Manager of the New Melle Dollar General #19613. Since 2021, Jan has been serving this New Melle Community and beyond with her work at the store. Jan makes constant updates and seeks ways to help people in this great town. Kim Sachs, Jan’s manager for just over a year, states that Jan is one of her favorite managers, as she is currently overseeing 20 stores in the area. 

Jan came to town because of her job, but she stays for the small-town closeness, even if her job would change, she would choose to stay and live here.

“I support this great community through Dollar General with donations to local churches and I am dedicated to making sure the doors are open through tornadoes to snow to ice storms. Even in bad weather, I made sure to get the store open and let the community know I am here when you need anything!” said Jan. Jan is well connected here in town and she feels like she simply belongs in this community, more than just a job, this is her town! 

Jan had many visitors at the bakery during her Honor Hour. In case you missed visiting her here, please know that she loved carrot cake… hint hint.
